The crew of the small rocket ship "Grad Sviyazhsk" of the Caspian Flotilla (CFl) has started the transition from St. Petersburg to a permanent base in Kaspiysk after participating in the Main Naval Parade.
Caspian sailors make an inter-fleet crossing to Dagestan along the route through the Volga-Don Shipping Channel, the Rybinsk reservoir and Lake Ladoga. The MRC "Grad Sviyazhsk" will pass a total of more than 2.5 thousand km and 56 locks that provide passage through water basins with different water levels.
During the inter-fleet crossing, the crew of the MRK "Grad Sviyazhsk" fulfills the tasks of combat training in the organization of anti-submarine, anti-aircraft and mine defense, as well as maneuvering while swimming and passing narrow waterways.
Before the start of the inter-fleet transition, the crew of the MRK worked out a set of basic training measures, checked the readiness of technical means and life support systems. The commander of the ship, the officers of the watch and the crews ensuring navigation safety conducted training on the passage of narrow sections and torrential zones.
