The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense is working on the completion of the lead ship of the project 58250. It is assumed that he will replace the frigate "Hetman Sagaidachny"in the Navy.
Developed under the project 58250 "Vladimir the Great" is the most important, ambitious, and expensive naval project of Ukraine. Now the construction of the ship is de facto frozen, but the Ministry of Defense believes that he can still get a start in life.
According to the military Department of Ukraine, components for preservation and completion will be transferred to one of the shipyards. Now they are located on the territory of the Black Sea Shipbuilding Plant, which has gone bankrupt. The overall readiness of the ship is about 17 percent.

Experts are working on its completion as a frigate: previously, the Vladimir the Great was considered as a corvette. If the construction is successfully completed, the ship will replace the Hetman Sagaidachny in the Ukrainian Navy — a frigate that was laid down in 1990 as a patrol ship of project 11351 "Nereus".
