Moscow. August 12. INTERFAX-The crews of the newest small missile ships "Veliky Ustyug" and "Uglich" of the Caspian Flotilla (CFl) conducted a training to repel attacks by means of an air attack of a conditional enemy, Colonel Vadim Astafyev, head of the press service of the Southern Military District, told reporters on Thursday.
"In the course of practical actions, the personnel of the radio - technical combat unit, in cooperation with the combat calculations of the ship's artillery, carried out the setting of a false target by the ship's passive interference system of the near border, worked out the activation of electronic and visual masking means for disinformation of the air enemy," Astafyev said.
According to him, reflecting the attack of a conditional air enemy, the gunners fired blank ammunition from 100-mm rapid-fire artillery installations A-190 and 30-mm anti-aircraft artillery complexes AK-630.
"Also, the calculations of the combat posts of the ships performed maneuvering as part of the ship's group when dodging attacks with guided weapons of a conditional enemy," he added.
The training was held in preparation for the dynamic display of the military-technical forum "Army-2021" in Kaspiysk.
