Ekaterinburg. August 10. INTERFAX-The exercise of the radiation, chemical and biological protection troops of the Central Military District (CVO) began at the training grounds of the Altai Territory, as well as the Sverdlovsk and Samara regions, the press service of the CVO reported on Tuesday.
"More than 2 thousand servicemen and more than 300 units of military special equipment are involved in the exercise," the report says.
It is noted that the servicemen will work out radiation, chemical and biological reconnaissance on regular RHM-6 machines, will take samples of soil and particles of toxic substances in the field.
In addition, aerosol counteraction units will temporarily install object smoke screens over the positions of the protected troops, hiding them visually and in the infrared range. Special processing calculations will pass the standards for the preparation of neutralizing formulations and the deployment of the ARS-14KM, TMS-65 complexes for degassing, deactivation and disinfection of the area, equipment, weapons and personnel.
For the calculations of heavy flamethrower systems TOS-1, the delivery of tests for marching training, ammunition equipment and aiming is provided, the Central Military District specifies.
The exercise will last until August 28.
