MOSCOW, Aug 9-RIA Novosti. Russian military builders will build more than fifty objects on the islands of the Kuril Ridge, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.

"In recent years, almost 30 different structures have been built on the archipelago of the Great Ridge of the Kuril Islands. In particular, seven dormitories for military personnel have appeared on Iturup and Kunashir, another one will be ready this year. The new housing is fully equipped, the rooms have everything you need for life. In total, military builders will build 51 objects on the Kuril Ridge in the foreseeable future, " the report says.

Everything that is being built is designed to be resistant to an earthquake with a force of up to nine points, according to a press release from the Ministry of Defense, the only executive authority endowed with a full range of powers in the field of capital construction: from the formation of a technical task by the state customer to the turnkey commissioning of the object and putting it into operation with the issuance of a full package of permits, including state expertise and architectural and construction supervision.

Since 2019, the "Military Construction Company" ("VSK) has been operating as part of the department. The system of its management bodies, control over the activities and movement of finances is focused on the implementation of the priority task - the construction of infrastructure for the Armed Forces.

The Ministry of Defense notes that the organizational and legal form of a public company (VSK has this status) is optimal in many parameters.

"Its legal status guarantees maximum property security and protection of contracts. The structure of the "VSK" is built taking into account the current military-administrative structure. Branches have been created in the military districts and in the Northern Fleet, and units have also been formed for the construction of special facilities, " the department reports.

According to him, about 30 thousand specialists and more than 2.8 thousand pieces of equipment are involved daily at the construction sites of the Ministry of Defense.
