The naval strike group formed as part of the command and staff training includes the missile cruiser Marshal Ustinov, the frigate Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov and the nuclear submarine missile cruiser Eagle.
In accordance with the training situation on target designation received from long-range anti-submarine Tu-142 aircraft, the ship's strike group, using computer modeling technologies, launched a missile strike with electronic launches of high-precision weapons at the ship's grouping of the conditional enemy, designated by the tactical group of ships of the Northern Fleet.
The missile cruiser Marshal Ustinov carried out electronic launches of Vulkan cruise missiles, and the frigate Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov carried out electronic launches of Kalibr cruise missiles.
The nuclear submarine missile cruiser "Eagle" performed electronic launches of cruise missiles "Granit" from the designated area, while in an underwater position.
The accuracy and effectiveness of the use of missile weapons will be evaluated by the command of the Northern Fleet after studying the data of objective control.
As part of the command and staff training on the management of forces and troops of the Northern Fleet, more than 30 ships, submarines and support vessels perform combat training tasks in the Atlantic, Barents and White Seas. In accordance with the training situation, formations of the army corps and the Army of the Air Force and Air Defense are operating at the training grounds of the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions, the press service of the SF noted.
