MOSCOW, August 6. /TASS/. The software and hardware complex "CEDAR" for tracking the location of logging equipment, its technical condition, the volume of logging and other parameters using satellite communications was developed in the Russian Federation. This was reported to TASS by Pavel Cherenkov, general director of the Gonets Satellite System company (part of Roscosmos).
"The complex is a modular system that provides flexible integration with the equipment installed on logging equipment and the customer's information systems, which allows you to control the location of logging equipment, technical condition indicators, operating time, downtime, the volume of logging, fuel and lubricants consumption and other parameters," Cherenkov said.
According to the general director of the company, the complex was developed jointly with LLC "Ilim LTUS". "Currently, the final stage of testing of the complex is underway at the logging sites of the Trans-Baikal Territory and the Arkhangelsk Region," he stressed.
The complex is equipped with a subscriber terminal "Gonets", which provides a stable data transmission channel anywhere in Russia. In the future, the companies plan to develop the project and distribute the solution throughout the industry.
Gonets is the only Russian low-orbit mobile satellite communication system designed for global information exchange with mobile and stationary objects, as well as for organizing retransmission channels for various purposes.
