Moscow. August 4. INTERFAX - More than 30 ships and submarines and 10,000 military personnel are involved in the command and staff training of the Northern Fleet, which started on Wednesday, the press service of the fleet reported.
"The practical part of the training will last for several days. In total, more than 10 thousand personnel, 70 armored vehicles, up to 15 aircraft, about 30 warships, submarines and support vessels are involved in the training," the report says.
According to the press service, the training will be held under the leadership of the commander of the Northern Fleet. At various stages, formations of the army corps, marine corps units, military engineers, coastal and rocket-artillery troops, formations of the Air Force and air defense army of the Northern Fleet, ships, submarines and support vessels solving the tasks of the inter-fleet transition after participating in the Main Naval Parade, ships of the Kola Flotilla of heterogeneous forces and divisions of missile ships of the Northern Fleet will be involved.
"During the training, the level of readiness of the military authorities of the Northern Fleet will be assessed when planning and conducting actions to resolve crisis situations in the Arctic Ocean area and manage interspecific groups as part of solving tasks to protect the Arctic borders of the Russian Federation from threats from maritime directions," the press service added.
In addition, it " will allow the fleet command to assess the degree of preparation of the troops (forces) of the Northern Fleet to participate in large-scale strategic exercises planned for the autumn of 2021."
