The engineering systems of remote mining "Agriculture"were involved in the exercises in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
As the newspaper reports " Red Star ", at the training ground in Mulino, blocking mining of a conditional enemy unit was used for the first time, which fell into a kind of impenetrable "bag". The ISDM platoon with its salvo closed the passages that had previously been made in the barriers, forcing the enemy to raise the white flag.
Such installations, made on the chassis of KAMAZ all-terrain vehicles (8x8), were first demonstrated last year on Red Square during a military parade dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Each of them has fifty guides designed for the use of various types of rocket ammunition loaded with mines. For the safety of the civilian population, they are programmed to self-destruct.
The minimum firing range is 5000 meters, the maximum is 15,000 meters. The system also includes transport-charging vehicles made on a similar wheeled platform.
During the exercises, the UMZ-K "Tick" universal minelayer and Mi-8MTV-5-1 helicopters with the VSM-1 mining system were also used.
The events were held in preparation for the strategic exercise "West-2021". The events were observed by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation-the First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Valery Gerasimov. Explanations were given to him by the head of the engineering troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Yuri Stavitsky.
