The newest nuclear submarine missile cruiser K-571 "Krasnoyarsk"was solemnly launched in Severodvinsk. This is the fourth ship in the series of submarines of the Ash project. And the third, built in an improved version with the letter " M " - modernized. In total, nine of them are planned to be released.
The ceremony was held according to all naval traditions. As it should be in such cases, the commander of the submarine, captain 2nd rank Ivan Artyushin, broke a bottle of champagne on the hull of the boat. Then, at a speed of about a meter per minute, the ship mounted on the slipway train began to move towards the gates of the Sevmash enterprise workshop.
Of course, the Krasnoyarsk did not immediately go to sea. It has yet to be completed on the water and a whole series of tests. It is planned that the cruiser will be transferred to the fleet by 2022.
The latest nuclear submarines are not launched into the water every day and even for a month. The event is very significant for the fleet, it was not by chance that the commander-in-chief of the Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, participated in it.
"Thanks to the advanced design solutions of one of the leading design bureaus "Malachit", the high quality of work of shipbuilders, the Russian Ocean Navy will be provided with the most modern and reliable nuclear submarines of the Yasen-M project for the long term, " the chief naval commander of our country said at the ceremony.
According to him, "Krasnoyarsk" embodied the best achievements of the domestic nuclear submarine shipbuilding. The replenishment of the Russian submarine fleet with boats of the 885M project clearly demonstrates the stage of its active equipping with submarines and ships that have no analogues in the world. "This will allow the Russian Navy to continue to effectively fulfill the tasks of ensuring the prevention of any security threats from sea and ocean directions," the commander - in-chief concluded.
There is no exaggeration here. Submarines of the Krasnoyarsk type are really high-tech and very formidable marine equipment. The main striking force of the submarines is the Kalibr - PL and Onyx cruise missile systems. The cruiser also has torpedo-mine weapons and air defense systems on board. In the future, it is going to be equipped with hypersonic missiles "Zircon".
By the way, the first test launch of such a missile is planned to be carried out from the board of the nuclear submarine Severodvinsk-the lead ship of the project 855 "Ash". A kind of big brother of "Krasnoyarsk". The launch should be completed by the end of 2021.
