Units of the engineering troops for the first time practically used remote "blocking mining" during a special exercise at the Mulino training ground in the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the servicemen worked out joint actions of combined arms and engineering units to draw a conditional enemy and military equipment into a mined area with subsequent blocking and destruction.
During the training, the engineering units worked out the installation of mixed minefields with a promising means of installing a MVZ-a universal minelayer UMZ-K "Tick".
During the implementation of certain elements of the exercise, military engineers used new samples of engineering ammunition, including promising anti-wing mines PTKM-1R.
Special exercises of engineering troops are held on the territory of the Western Military District in preparation for the joint strategic exercise "West-2021".
More than 8 thousand servicemen and more than 1.5 thousand units of military equipment are involved in the maneuvers.
