The Chinese Type 96B has been taking part in tank biathlons on the territory of Russia for several years. Last year, one of these machines was even presented at the Army-2020 forum. But, interestingly, the Chinese comrades are still in no hurry to fully disclose all the data.

For example, on the accompanying table, which was located next to this tank at the weapons exhibition, it was reported that its engine power was only 780 hp. Although earlier modifications allegedly already had 1000-horsepower engines, and many experts are sure that on this Type 96B - all 1200 hp.
This gives an unprecedented power-to-weight ratio of the tank, as a result of which it is possible to achieve speeds significantly exceeding the specified 65 km/h.

It is difficult to say what the military of the Middle Kingdom is guided by, classifying the real characteristics, because such a "ninety-sixth" is in service and is offered for export.
