Sevmash will launch Krasnoyarsk, the second serial nuclear submarine of the Yasen — M project, on July 30. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, this will happen at a solemn ceremony in Severodvinsk.
The modernized "Ash trees" differ from the basic project by a smaller displacement, improved on-board equipment, geometry and a new anti-hydrolocation coating of the hull, which allows reducing their sonar visibility.
The lead ship of the modernized project - "Kazan" - joined the Navy in May. In July [...], the Novosibirsk, the first serial Yasen-M, was released for factory sea trials. It is planned to transfer it to the fleet at the end of this year. Sevmash is building five more modernized "Ash trees" — "Novosibirsk", "Krasnoyarsk", "Arkhangelsk", "Perm" and "Ulyanovsk" .
"Krasnoyarsk" was laid in 2014, simultaneously with "Prince Oleg" and "Khabarovsk" . With a length of 130 meters and a hull width of 13 meters, the underwater displacement of the Krasnoyarsk is 13.8 thousand tons. Under water, the ship can reach a speed of up to 31 knots. The working depth of the submarine is 520 meters, and the autonomy is one hundred days.
The launch of the Krasnoyarsk will take place on July 30 at a solemn ceremony in Severodvinsk. The Defense Ministry did not specify when the submarine will be handed over to the fleet, but it is assumed that this will happen next year.
In the same year, the Spaniards will launch their first submarine "Isaac Peral" S-80, which we wrote about earlier. It has been built with varying success since 2007.
