ZHUKOVSKY, July 24-RIA Novosti. The Kronstadt company will begin production of helicopter-type unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the company's CEO Sergey Bogatikov told RIA Novosti during the MAKS-2021 air show.
"We have acquired the Strela Research and production enterprise. And in addition to aircraft-type drones, we are now starting the preparation of production of unmanned helicopters, the development of "Strela"at our plant under construction in Dubna. These are large-sized helicopter UAVs - one type with a take - off weight of about 600 kilograms, the second - 1.5 tons," Bogatikov said.
The general Director added that separate workshops of the Dubna Machine-Building Plant (part of Kronstadt) will also be involved in the production of helicopter drones. The DMZ will also produce ground control points for drones.
He said that one of the company's tasks in connection with the release of new drones is to unify control panels for aircraft and helicopter vehicles. "This is important for solving tactical tasks: an aircraft - type drone will serve as a target designator and repeater, and unmanned helicopters will perform their tasks," Bogatikov said.
The Kronshtadt company is building the first Russian factory for the serial production of attack drones in Dubna, near Moscow. The company should start working in November of this year. In particular, Orion reconnaissance and strike drones will be assembled at the plant. Such devices under the name "Pacer" are purchased by the Russian Defense Ministry.
