ZHUKOVSKY /Moscow region/, July 22. /TASS/. The modernization of the MiG-29 fighters of the Indian Air Force (Air Force) to the level of the MiG-29UPG will be completed in 2022. This was announced to TASS at the MAKS-2021 air show by Dmitry Shugaev, director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS).
"The modernization of all Indian MiG-29 fighters to the MiG-29UPG level under the current contract is planned to be completed in 2022," he said.
Earlier it was reported that about 60 MiG-29 fighters of the Indian Air Force will be upgraded to the level of the MiG-29UPG. The modernization of MiG-29 combat aircraft is carried out using a number of Russian components, including radio electronics and weapons systems.
The International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS-2021) takes place from July 20 to 25 in Zhukovsky, near Moscow.
