Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend the parade of the Navy, which will be held in St. Petersburg. This was announced on Wednesday, July 21, by the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.
"Yes, the president will be at the parade," the Kremlin representative said, answering a corresponding question from journalists.
On July 19, the submarine Prince Vladimir arrived in St. Petersburg to take part in the Navy Day parade for the first time, which will be held on July 25 in honor of the 325th anniversary of the Russian Fleet.
In total, about 40 ships and boats will take part in the solemn event, as well as aviation — almost 50 planes and helicopters.
Last year, parades in honor of the Day of the Russian Navy were held at seven main bases of the country. 250 ships and about 15 thousand military personnel took part in the festive events. About 80 aircraft and helicopters were involved, as well as over 100 units of ground equipment.
