The MiG company demonstrated models of new aircraft at the MAKS Air show. One of them is a promising multifunctional ship-based fighter.
The presentation of the new Russian fighter Checkmate overshadowed all the other novelties of the MAKS air show. Nevertheless, it is worth admitting that some of them are at least curious. Among other things, Mig presented its conceptual vision of combat aviation of the future [...] .
At the stand of the Mikoyan Design Bureau, several conceptual models were shown at once: fighters and a drone. One of the planes will be a light multi-functional fighter. The second is a multifunctional ship-based fighter.

They want to build a drone on the principle of a "flying wing": it is assumed that it can be operated in a "bundle" with promising fighters. The device will be able to perform various tasks — both shock and refueling in the air of other aircraft. The system was given the name "Promising complex of carrier-based aviation".

A notable feature is the predominance of marine themes on the presented concepts. It is unknown how far MiG has advanced in the development of complexes.

The MiG recalled itself last winter in connection with an ambitious project of a new Russian interceptor. "The development of the next generation of interceptor fighters has already begun. The project of a promising long-range interception aviation complex (PAK DP) under the symbol "MiG-41" is at the stage of development work, " Rostec reported at the time.
The characteristics of the machine are not known for certain, but earlier it was said that the speed of the fighter will reach M=4-4. 3. Thus, the new interceptor can become the fastest combat aircraft in the world.
As for the Checkmate mentioned above, its main characteristics are already known. The combat radius of the fighter will be 1500 kilometers. The combat load will exceed seven tons.

The engine has a controlled thrust vector. The avionics equipment was apparently developed on the basis of the Su-57 aircraft systems. Experts see the radar station as a reduced version of the N036 radar for the first Russian fifth-generation fighter in terms of the number of modules.
The new aircraft is being created with an open architecture: the customer (it is assumed that the car will be actively exported) he will determine what kind of equipment the fighter will receive. Its first flight is scheduled for 2023.
