Moscow. July 21. INTERFAX-Joint-stock companies "GLONASS" and "Roskartografiya" signed a cooperation agreement at the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2021.
"The agreement provides for cooperation between the parties on the development and practical application of navigation and information technologies, including the creation of a network of stations based on geodetic points for high - precision positioning solutions," GLONASS said in a press release issued on Wednesday.
It is reported that JSC "GLONASS" is developing a service that implements the technology of high-precision global navigation in real time. The international name of the technology is Precise Point Positioning (PPP). This service allows consumers to achieve the accuracy of navigation definitions up to 10 cm anywhere in the Eurasian and Arctic regions without local infrastructure. With the help of PPP, it is possible to solve problems of coordinate support for cartographic and topographic-geodetic works, geological exploration, marine geology, geoinformation systems, unmanned aerial vehicles.
According to the press service, within the framework of cooperation, the experts of GLONASS JSC and Roskartografiya JSC plan to develop joint solutions and implement pilot projects. The parties will form a working group to analyze promising areas of activity for the creation of functional additions for global navigation satellite systems and cartographic support of navigation and information systems. An appropriate action plan ("road map") will be prepared and approved by October 1, 2021.
"We assume the joint use of networks of geodetic points for the development of partner services that will improve the technology of high-precision global navigation. Today we agreed to form a working group that will prepare a roadmap for further joint actions, "said Sergey Karutin, General Director of Roskartografiya JSC.
According to Igor Milashevsky, General Director of GLONASS JSC, the implementation of this agreement will improve the quality of the product for high-precision positioning, make it more competitive and efficient.
