A unique characteristic of the product is its payload coefficient - the "Drill" has the largest in comparison with other ammunition, said the executive director of the concern Alexander Kochkin
ZHUKOVSKY /Moscow region/, July 21. /TASS/. The concern " Techmash "of the Rostec state Corporation plans to create a line of aerial bombs for various purposes based on the planning aerial bomb" Drill". This was stated in an interview with TASS at the MAKS-2021 air show by the executive director of the concern Alexander Kochkin.
"A unique characteristic of the product is its payload coefficient (the ratio of the mass of the payload to the mass of the product) - the "Drill" has the largest in comparison with other ammunition. "Drill" is a basic sample. On its basis, a whole line of products for various purposes will be developed through small improvements," he said.
According to Kochkin, the planning bomb cluster "Drill" contains sub-elements that are made on the principle of high-precision weapons. Currently, the munition is at the stage of completing state tests.
"The question of which combat aircraft weapons will include the product will be decided after state tests when adopting the product for service. And then, from about the beginning of 2023, we will be able to organize its mass production, " he said.
The planning aerial bomb "Drill" was developed by the NGO " Basalt "(part of "Techmash"). It is designed to destroy armored vehicles, ground-based radar stations, control points of power plants and anti-aircraft missile systems. The creation of a new aerial bomb was first announced in 2016. It is planned that it will be almost impossible to recognize it on radars.
