It is planned to produce 23 SSJ100 aircraft in 2021, and 18 such airliners in 2022. This was announced on Tuesday, July 20, by Oleg Gulyaev, director of the Regional Aircraft branch of the Irkut Corporation, during the MAKS-2021 air show.
"This year there are 23 new aircraft, they are already scheduled for slots today. Next year, we have plans for 18 new aircraft, " Gulyaev said, answering a question from journalists about the plan for the production of SSJ100 aircraft.
In addition, he said that Irkut Corporation is working on cargo versions of SSJ100 and MS-21 passenger aircraft.
"We are considering [the development of a cargo version of the aircraft], this work is already underway. We are currently working on conceptual solutions for the production of a cargo version, and not only this issue is being considered in relation to the Sukhoi Superjet aircraft, but also in relation to the MS-21," the head of the company noted.
Potential interest in such aircraft is shown by the Russian Post and a number of private operators who are focused on online commerce, Gulyaev concluded.
Earlier in the day, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the newest Russian aircraft MS-21 will soon be on the track.
The Sukhoi Superjet 100 is a Russian short-haul aircraft capable of flying at a distance of up to 4.6 thousand km and designed to carry 98 passengers.
The MS-21 medium-haul aircraft has a capacity of 169 passengers. In May 2018, the second flight sample successfully completed the first flight test from the airfield of the Irkutsk Aircraft Factory.
On July 20, the MAKS-2021 International Aerospace Salon opened in Zhukovsky, near Moscow. During the presidential screening, on the first day, viewers will be able to see the flights of Ka-226 and Mi-171 helicopters, Su-57 and MiG-35 fighters and an experienced passenger aircraft MS-21-310. The audience will also see a single aerobatic flight of the Yak-152 training aircraft, the fifth-generation Su-57 and generation 4++ MiG-35 fighters, as well as passenger IL-114 and SSJ-100.
