ST. PETERSBURG, July 18. /TASS/. The first consolidated training for ships and aircraft of the Main Naval Parade was held in St. Petersburg and Kronstadt. This was reported on Sunday in the press service of the Western Military District.
"During the training, the elements of the movement of ships at a given speed along a given course of passing the parade formation in the Neva water area and in the fairway of the Kronstadt raid were worked out. In the sky over the city, the pilots worked out maintaining the altitude, intervals and distances between aircraft of various types, reaching the specified points at a certain time, " the report says.
The training was attended by Mig-31, Su-24M, Su-25, Su-30SM, Su-33, MiG-29K, Su-27, Be-200 and Be-12 amphibious aircraft, Tu-142MK, An-140 aircraft, An-72, Tu-154, Tu-134, An-26 transport aircraft, anti-submarine Il-38, as well as Mi-8, Ka-27, Ka-52K, Ka-29, Ka-31 helicopters.
In connection with the training for ships on the Neva River, bridges were built. Ships of various classes participated in the parade training, including the missile cruiser Marshal Ustinov, the large anti-submarine ship Vice Admiral Kulakov, the large landing ship Pyotr Morgunov, the corvette Gremyashchy, the diesel-electric submarines Volkhov, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Krasnodar, and others.
The main naval parade will be held in St. Petersburg on July 25, the Day of the Russian Navy. The anniversary parade will be held in the year of the 325th anniversary of the Russian Fleet. Naval parades will also be held in Severomorsk, Baltiysk, Sevastopol, Kaspiysk, Vladivostok and Tartus (Syria).
