July 15, 2021 at JSC "Vimpel Shipbuilding Plant "(as part of JSC "United Shipbuilding Corporation") in Rybinsk (Yaroslavl region) the ceremony of laying the next anti-sabotage boat of Project 21980 (code "Grachonok")for the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy took place with the factory number 01229. This is the ninth boat of the project 21980 under construction in Rybinsk - previously, the Vympel SSZ built four boats of this type for the Northern Fleet and four for the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation (Rosgvardiya). In general, this is the 28th boat of this type.

A total of 24 anti-sabotage boats of Project 21980 have been ordered for the Russian Navy to date, of which 20 boats have been commissioned into the Navy (ten were built at JSC Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky in Zelenodolsk, four - at JSC Vimpel Shipbuilding Plant in Rybinsk, and six - at JSC Vostochnaya Shipyard in Vladivostok). Of the 20 boats, six are part of the black sea fleet (P-191 "Cadet", P-349 Suvorovets, P-350 "Cadet Kirovets" P-355 "Yunarmeets of the Crimea", P-424 "Kinel", P-433 "Pavel Silaev") and Pacific fleet (P-377, P-417 "Yunarmeets Kamchatka," P-420 "Yunarmeets of Primorye", P-431 "Yunarmeets Chukotka," P-445, P-450 "Yunarmeets Sakhalin"), four in the Northern fleet (P-340 "Yunarmeets Arctic," P-421 "Yunarmeets of the white sea area," P-429, P-430 "Valery Fedyanin"), three as part of the Caspian flotilia (P-351 "Yunarmeets" Caspian, P-449 "Yunarmeets of Dagestan", "Yunarmeets of Tatarstan") and one in the Baltic fleet (head P-104 Nakhimovets). Three more boats are being built at the Zelenodolsk plant, and now another one has been laid down at the Vympel SSZ. The developer of the project 21980 is JSC "Vimpel Design Bureau".
SSZ Vimpel has built four boats of project 21980 with factory numbers from 01221 to 01224 for the Russian Navy, commissioned in 2016-2017 and included in the Northern Fleet (P-340 "Yunarmeets of the Arctic", P-421 "Yunarmeets of the White Sea", P-429, P-430 "Valery Fedyanin"). Four more boats of the 21980 project with factory numbers from 01225 to 01228 were built in 2019 at the Vimpel Shipbuilding Plant JSC for the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation (Rosgvardiya).
