MOSCOW, July 16-RIA Novosti. The new Il-76MD military transport aircraft has been delivered to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, according to an infographic published in the newspaper " Red star ".
According to the infographic, the Russian Defense Ministry received an Il-76MD military transport aircraft within a week as part of the state defense order.
In March, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergei Shoigu, announced that five Il-76MD-90A aircraft are planned to be delivered to the military department in 2021.
The IL-76MD-90A was developed by the Ilyushin Aviation Complex Company and is a deeply modernized version of the Il-76 aircraft. The new flight and navigation complex, automatic control system, communication complex and "glass" cabin meet all modern requirements for aircraft avionics and significantly increase flight safety, driving accuracy and landing.
The replacement of standard D-30KP2 engines with more modern PS-90A-76, the installation of a modified wing and a reinforced landing gear significantly expand the operational capabilities of the aircraft.
In total, the Russian military transport aviation has contracted 39 such machines for the amount of about 140 billion rubles.
