Due to the abnormal heat, the fire-dangerous situation in Yakutia has sharply worsened.
On behalf of the President of Russia, the Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with local administrations, is actively fighting forest fires. The army aviation has already performed almost four dozen flights to the fire centers. This was announced on Tuesday, July 13 at a meeting in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation by the head of the department Sergei Shoigu.
"In addition, in order to build up the grouping, Il-76 aircraft equipped with special pouring devices were sent to Yakutia. They have already started extinguishing fires, " the Defense minister added.
