In the future, the Institute plans to start making bags for freeze-dried space food on a regular basis
MOSCOW, July 13. /TASS/. JSC "Research and Design Institute of Chemical Engineering" (Niihimmash) plans to start manufacturing bags for freeze-dried space food on a regular basis. This is stated in the annual report of the Institute.
"A pilot batch of products for freeze-dried cosmonauts' food was manufactured at the company's production site, the second stage of design tests was carried out, " the document says.
As specified in the report, in the future, " it is planned to manufacture packages for freeze-dried food for astronauts on a regular basis."
Niihimmash is a leading Russian institute for the creation of life support systems for spacecraft crews, the development of equipment for the chemical, petrochemical, microbiological, food industry and environmental protection.
