In the Kaliningrad region, mortar crews of the Baltic Fleet destroyed a column of military equipment of a conditional enemy.
A battery of 120-mm mortars "Sani" of the motorized rifle regiment of the Army Corps of the BF was involved in the exercises held at the Pravdinsky training ground.
The mortar men were ordered to destroy a column of military equipment located across the river. In the conditions of a swampy and wooded area, servicemen from Sani mortars successfully hit 30 targets simulating lightly armored vehicles, manpower and firing points at a distance of up to 4.5 thousand meters.
Special attention was paid to firing at unobservable targets that are located behind natural obstacles (hills, forest belts, a river), Captain of the 1st rank Roman Martov, head of the information support department of the press service of the Western Military District for the Baltic Fleet, told the Military-Industrial Courier.
The shooting was preceded by training sessions, during which the personnel fulfilled about 20 standards for special training – such as bringing the mortar to combat, into a marching position, changing the firing position.
It should be noted that the calculations of the Sani mortars in April represented the army corps of the BF at the district stage of the competition "Masters of Artillery Fire".
