Moscow. July 1. INTERFAX-Representatives of the United Engine Corporation (UEC) and Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) discussed the plan for the introduction of production and digital technologies in industrial projects.
"UEC and SPbPU have agreed on further steps to introduce digital technologies in the development of new-generation gas turbine engines and the development of digital production infrastructure," the corporation's press service said in a statement released on Thursday.
Viktor Polyakov, Deputy General Director and Managing Director of PJSC UEC-Saturn, notes that " the key topic of discussion was the development of a technology for creating a digital twin of a marine gas turbine engine and gearbox."
"As a result of this project, UEC will receive the current technology and an integrated digital platform for use in all subsequent developments of new products," Polyakov said, as quoted by the press service.
In turn, Alexey Borovkov, Vice-rector for Digital Transformation of SPbPU, head of the Competence Center of NTI SPbPU "New Production Technologies", called it important that "modern advanced digital technologies, unique platform solutions are used in the engine-building industry".
"And there are already the first results. UEC-Saturn has launched a digital platform for the development of the Competence Center of NTI SPbPU "New Production Technologies"in a test mode. It will be used to digitize business processes. We plan to formalize the requirements for digitalization of the development work processes, virtual tests of gas turbine engine components and systems by the end of July this year and start creating the IT infrastructure necessary for the functioning of digital twins," Borovkov said, whose words are given in the message.
