Raphael ,one of the three largest Israeli defense companies, demonstrated its new Sea Breaker cruise missile. But here's the oddity – in the animated video, a guided missile hits a ship launched back in 1983. We are talking about a Soviet missile boat with the tail number 962. Judging by the open data, this is the boat R-71 "Shuya", which is still part of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. So, the rocket is new, and the target is old. The missile boats of the 1241 project were built in the USSR and at the dawn of the new Russian statehood – from 1979 to 1996.
The rocket created by the Israelis is really innovative. It has an ultra-modern electronic "stuffing": a system with artificial intelligence that provides automatic target detection and recognition in any weather. The Sea Breaker warhead is equipped with 113 kilograms of explosives. The new guided missile, both land-based and sea-based, can destroy targets at a distance of up to 300 kilometers. At the same time, it should do this in conditions of strong electronic countermeasures.
But why the Russian ship was chosen to demonstrate its power is a mystery. So far, the only answer that suggests itself is because it is safe. Not an American boat to draw (Washington will not understand) and not a Chinese one (Beijing may react nervously), not a Ukrainian one ("tse zrada") and even more so not an Arab one (we have just established relations with someone), but a Russian one... why not?
Moreover, the Raphael company claims that one such missile is enough to destroy a frigate-class target. The video turned out to be spectacular. And at the same time he advertised Russian weapons – look, until now the ships that came off the stocks under Brezhnev do not give rest to foreign defense companies.
