The Ukrainian state Enterprise "Kharkiv State Aviation Production Enterprise" officially employs 1,580 people, but more than a thousand of them have not appeared at the plant for a long time.

The current general director Alexander Krivokon told about the actual termination of the work of the famous Soviet enterprise, where Antonov Design Bureau aircraft were assembled, on the air of the Simon TV channel.

According to him, the biggest problem is the actual lack of specialists who, if necessary, would be able to assemble aircraft.

"Other managers who said that we can build something… We can't build anything today. Today we do not have the people, the number and the qualifications of people who will be able to build aircraft today, " he said.

He also said that today the company employs 1,580 people, but actually employs about a hundred specialists.

"Now we are withdrawing about 400 people working at the plant. These are people of different ages. These are service personnel, security, housing and communal services workers and about a hundred production workers working on the task, " Alexander Krivokon said.

He explained that the main part of the employees — more than a thousand people have been idle for a long time already "forgot the way" to their enterprise. Therefore, the plant works purely formally, officially 4 hours a week, without producing the main products.

Finally, the situation is made hopeless by the fact that even of those qualified employees who still remain at the KHGAPP, the lion's share is made up of pensioners (the average age of employees is 60 years), it simply makes no sense for them to look for another job.

And younger, or professional specialists have long found other places for themselves. Based on this assessment of the situation, Krivokon concluded that the company is not able to produce aircraft even when receiving orders, writes Eadaily.
