The Russian Defense Ministry has released a video of joint exercises of the Navy's operational unit and the VKS aviation in the Mediterranean. The crews of the ships practiced tasks to repel enemy attacks from the air, and hypersonic missile carriers made training flights accompanied by fighters.
The exercises involved the missile cruiser "Moscow", the frigates "Admiral Essen" and "Admiral Makarov", the submarines "Stary Oskol" and "Rostov-on-Don", Tu-142mk, Il-38 aircraft, Tu-22m3 long-range bombers and MiG-31k fighters.
At some point, an F-35B fighter of the Royal British Navy was seen in the air. It is based on the aircraft carrier Queen Elizabeth, which is conducting combat operations in Syria.
These shots were not ignored by the foreign media. The Drive portal believes that the Russian exercises in the region coincided with the appearance of the CSG21 aircraft carrier group not by chance. And both sides will be watching each other closely.
