10 new self-propelled PST-1 pontoons have been put into service with the railway connections of the Southern Military District (SE).
It is designed for towing ferries or individual sections of floating railway bridges, provides transportation of elements of hydraulic structures on water bodies with a wave height of up to 1.2 m.
Compared to the pontoons of the previous generation, the PST-1 has significantly increased mobility thanks to a powerful diesel engine.
The railway troops of the Southern Military District perform tasks for the technical cover of the assigned objects, restoration, demining and blocking of sections of the railway transport infrastructure, as well as the guidance of crossings over water barriers.
