Three years later
In February 2017, the Norwegian Ministry of Defense announced that it would cooperate with Germany in developing a project of submarines that should replace six Ula-type submarinesbuilt in 1989-1992. The Germans have plans to purchase these missiles both for existing frigate projects and for prospective ones. The underwater version of NSM-SL (Sub Launch) is also relevant for the 212CD project . And in the medium and long term, there may still be a basis for a joint initiative to integrate NSM on the Boeing P-8A Poseidon.
