They noted that it is primarily about the detection of submarines
ST. PETERSBURG, June 25. /TASS/. The technology of conducting underwater warfare needs to be reviewed, this is now being done both in Russia and around the world. This opinion was expressed by the scientific director of the Krylovsky State Scientific Center (KGNC)in an interview with a TASS correspondent Valery Polovinkin.
"Currently, not only we, but the whole world is very seriously engaged in the new technology of underwater warfare. And first of all, this is the detection of submarines. <...> We are talking about the need to change the technology of underwater warfare. The Krylov State Scientific Center directs very serious attention to these issues - and new materials, coatings, etc.," he said on the sidelines of the International Naval Salon.
"I believe that among all the variety of physical fields (the manifestation of the physical properties of the ship-approx. TASS) submarines, there are about 42 of them, polarities will be one of the first places in research and implementation. Due to the fact that they, unlike others, hydrodynamic, electromagnetic, etc., have a long life span. That is, we are talking about the fact that the trace remains observable for up to 20 hours, " the source said, adding that now detection is ahead of protection from these fields.
KGNC is the leading scientific enterprise in Russia for the development of concept projects for promising military ships and civilian vessels.
The International Naval Salon takes place from June 23 to 27 in St. Petersburg.
