Many of the military experts noticed that some unusual structures were installed on the towers of the T-72B3M tanks involved in this event. Judging by the way they look, we are talking about protection from ammunition attacking from above, for example, launched from the sides of unmanned aerial vehicles.

Everyone who followed the events taking place during the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh remembers how the Turkish Bayraktar drones hit the open hatches of the T-72. As a rule, this led to the destruction of the combat vehicle. If the hatches were closed, then the tanks, although they were damaged, could be restored, including in the field. However, as a rule, without waiting for help, the crews abandoned the equipment, and it was received by the Azerbaijani side in the form of trophies.

If such "umbrellas" were on the tanks, the number of losses would decrease significantly. According to experts, such a development can also protect against more serious weapons, such as the American Javelin ATGM and the Israeli Spike, as well as various shaped-charge ammunition used in the heads of rockets and missiles. It is important that the cost of such protection, which can be installed over the roof of the engine and transmission compartment, should be relatively small, and that it can be manufactured in large quantities.
