In Poland, two trawls carrying T-72M1 main battle tanks collided. The accident occurred at the end of last week on the A6 motorway, in the Podiuci municipal district of the city of Szczecin.
The equipment was transferred to the places of permanent deployment after participating in the largest maneuvers of the Polish Dragon-21 Army.
Military personnel of two mechanized formations, almost 10,000 people, and 800 pieces of equipment, including various types of armored vehicles, were involved in the training operations.
During the march, for an unknown reason, a tractor towing a trailer with one "seventy-second" collided with another vehicle. As a result, the fuel caught fire, and soon both trawls were engulfed in flames, and the first car burned out completely. The driver of the second managed to take the tractor to a safe place.
The tanks were also damaged, although it is not yet clear how long they are out of action. Local firefighters were engaged in the elimination of the fire source. Fortunately, no one was injured in this accident.
This is not the first incident with military equipment on the roads of Poland. So, in January 2020, during the march, an American Stryker armored personnel carrier of the second cavalry regiment of the US Army smoked.
Another incident related to fires of military equipment occurred in the second half of May, when an Israeli Merkava Mark IV tank caught fire.
