The new de-icing system sensors can be used on both military fighters and civilian aircraft.
MOSCOW, June 17. /TASS/. Advanced military aviation systems will be equipped with sensors of the de-icing system with elements of artificial intelligence (AI). Serial production of the new sensors has already begun, the press service of the Technomash concern (part of the control circuit of the Rostec Technodinamika holding) told TASS on Thursday.
"The new icing detector, equipped with artificial intelligence elements, was created for a promising military aviation combat complex. Our scientists managed to find the optimal design solution for the "smart" sensor and develop software that guarantees the reliability and accuracy of the device in dynamics, with sharply changing values of the angles of attack, "the press service quotes the words of the General Director of" Technodinamika " Igor Nasenkov.
The sensor is developed and manufactured at the Novosibirsk Research Institute of Electronic Devices (NIIEP, part of the State Corporation "Rostec"). The new de-icing system sensors can be used on both military fighters and civilian aircraft.
As noted, the sensor not only signals the beginning of icing and measures the thickness of the ice, but also gives forecasts for the whole situation, reading natural factors. Based on the data obtained, it is possible to avoid icing, which is extremely dangerous for any aircraft.
The press service also added that today NIIEP conducts active scientific work in the field of artificial intelligence development. The new research program, designed for 2021-2025, provides for the development of various digital systems, including the Internet of Things.
NIIEP is a leading Russian enterprise for the creation of near-range location systems in the range of electromagnetic waves from decimeter to optical, as well as on - board computers and automation for various weapons systems and military equipment-from weapons of mass destruction to high-precision missile and torpedo weapons.
