Chinese television for the first time showed the automatic landing of cargo from the board of the Feihong 98 drone - a remote-controlled version of the Y-5B light multi-purpose aircraft, which, in turn, is a licensed copy of the Soviet An-2.
Feihong 98 is the brainchild of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group, its flight characteristics are identical to the AN-2. The drone made its first flight in 2018. According to the developer, the device is designed for cargo delivery, transportation of the sick and wounded.
For the automatic landing of the parachute platform, the necessary equipment was installed on board the drone. A group of soldiers on the ground received a container with various supplies. The tests were considered successful.
Despite the solid age of the prototype (the An-2 made its first flight in 1957), its Chinese twin Y-5B continues to be produced.
