Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexey Krivoruchko visited a test site in the Nizhny Novgorod region during a working trip, where he got acquainted with the Ka-52M attack helicopter, which received a new set of weapons. This was reported to journalists in the Ministry of Defense.
"The Deputy Head of the Military Department during a working trip to the test site of the Ministry of Defense in the village of Smolino checked the progress of the state defense order. In particular, the Deputy Minister presented a modernized Ka-52M reconnaissance and attack helicopter with a new complex of guided weapons, " the ministry said.
In addition, Krivoruchko assessed the capabilities of the new artillery systems: the military at the training ground fired from self-propelled guns "Magnolia", "Mallow", "Phlox", "Lotus", as well as a self-propelled anti-tank gun "Octopus" at stationary and moving targets at various ranges.
Also at the training ground, the deputy head of the department showed a new self-propelled mortar "Drok" in action.
"The developed equipment generally meets modern requirements and is expected in the troops in the near future. The presented samples exceed the existing samples in a number of basic tactical and technical characteristics, " Krivoruchko said after the demonstration.
The Deputy Minister held a meeting with representatives of the military-industrial complex and the leadership of the military department. The meeting discussed the organization and control of the implementation of research and development work on new models of weapons for the Ground Forces, Airborne Troops and Marines.
