In the Northern Fleet, more than 20 warships and submarines, about ten aircraft and helicopters will be involved in the exercise of diverse forces to protect Russia's maritime borders in the Arctic. They began on Monday in the Barents Sea.
According to the press service of the Northern Fleet, the exercises will be held for several days under the leadership of the Deputy Commander of the Northern Fleet, Vice Admiral Oleg Golubev. The servicemen will have to work out a number of standards and perform a wide variety of combat exercises.
At various stages of the exercise, the sailors will interact with the aircraft, solve the tasks of protecting and defending a detachment of warships from enemy submarines. The final stage is combat shooting.
