YAROSLAVL, June 1-RIA Novosti. The Vympel shipyard in Rybinsk, Yaroslavl region, on Tuesday launched the largest ship in the 90-year history of the enterprise - the naval ship "Gennady Dmitriev" of the project 20360M for the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the regional government reported.
"On the first of June in Rybinsk at the Vympel shipyard, the marine ship "Gennady Dmitriev" of the project 20360M was launched. It was created by order of the Ministry of Defense of Russia and became the largest one produced at the enterprise. Its weight is more than 2,200 tons, length-77 meters, width-16 meters, height-14 meters. The displacement is more than 3,6 thousand tons, " the report says.
According to the Governor Dmitry Mironov, the construction of a vessel of this size is a real achievement of the Rybinsk shipbuilders.
"In the near future, the Vimpel enterprise will become a part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation JSC. Within the framework of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum, we plan to sign an agreement with it, which will become the basis for providing the Rybinsk plant with new orders and integrating it into production chains, " Mironov said.
It is reported that the new vessel is intended for receiving, storing and transporting ammunition to submarines and surface ships. The model includes ice reinforcement of the hull, double bottom and double sides, two cargo holds, a platform for transporting cargo in containers, a crane with a lifting capacity of 20 tons and a bow helicopter landing pad.
Joint-Stock Company "Vympel Shipbuilding Plant" was founded in Rybinsk in 1930. It is one of the leading Russian enterprises in the industry, specializing in the production of medium-and low-tonnage sea and river vessels for military and civil purposes. Since 2021, the Vimpel Shipyard has been a participant in the national project" Labor Productivity " and receives extended support from specialists of the Federal Competence Center.
