MOSCOW, May 27. /TASS/. The latest naval armament transport "Gennady Dmitriev" of the 20360M project will be launched on June 1 at the Vympel shipyard in Rybinsk. This was reported on Thursday to journalists in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"This is the largest vessel built in the entire history of the Vympel enterprise. The Deputy Commander-in - Chief of the Navy for Armament, Vice Admiral Igor Mukhametshin, reported on the readiness of the launch of the vessel to the commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov," the military department said.
They also clarified that the family of Gennady Dmitriev, after whom the ship was named, will take part in the launch ceremony on June 1. The 20360M naval armament transport is being built by order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. It was laid down in 2017. Purpose-receiving special cargo from berths and transferring it to ships at home points and on the open roadstead.
The length of the vessel is 77 m, width-15.8 m. "Gennady Dmitriev" is equipped with two cargo holds, a platform for transporting cargo in containers, a crane with a lifting capacity of 20 tons and a helicopter pad. The hull will be reinforced to work in the ice.
