The ships of the Northern Fleet, led by the nuclear cruiser "Peter the Great", conducted interspecific exercises in the Barents Sea with the involvement of aviation. According to the press service of the Northern Fleet, the complex exercises of the ship's tactical groups were held in the coastal training grounds. The maneuvers involved more than 10 warships and support vessels, as well as an IL-38 aircraft and a Ka-27PL helicopter of anti-submarine aviation.
During the exercises, the actions of the fleet forces on the deployment of the ship group at sea and mine protection were worked out. In addition, the crews trained in the search for submarines, repelling air raids and means of air attack of the imaginary enemy. Anti-aircraft missile and artillery firing and passive jamming by electronic warfare systems were also carried out.
During the exercise, the heavy nuclear missile cruiser "Peter the Great "and the small missile ship" Dawn "repelled the attack of the imaginary enemy from the air with the help of anti-aircraft missile systems" Dagger "and"Osa".
The exercises were led by the Deputy commander of the fleet Oleg Golubev from the cruiser "Peter the Great".
