In the United States, the launch ceremony of the destroyer USS Carl M. Levin (DDG 120) was held. The ship belongs to a new subtype of the famous Arleigh Burke-class destroyer.
The construction of Arleigh Burke-class destroyers is one of the most important defense areas of the Pentagon. As it became known, recently the Americans launched another destroyer of a new sub-series.
The USS Carl M. Levin (DDG 120) was launched at the General Dynamics Bath Iron Works in Maine on May 16. DDG 120 is the fifth of nine planned Arleigh Burke-class ships of the Flight IIA: Technology Insertion version.
The first representative of the subtype — USS Thomas Hudner (DDG-116) - was commissioned in 2018. In the past, the US Navy received a fourth deeply upgraded Arleigh Burke destroyer — USS Delbert D. Black (DDG-119).
