The Northern Fleet conducted exercises in the Barents Sea to search for submarines of the imaginary enemy. They were led by the flagship of the SF-heavy nuclear missile cruiser "Peter the Great".
The exercise involved ships protecting the water area of the Kola flotilla of diverse forces, submarines, anti-submarine, bomber and fighter aircraft of the Army of the Air Force and the Air Defense of the fleet.
Naval sailors and pilots practiced the tasks of deploying the surface and submarine forces of the fleet at sea, mine support and mine laying, searching for "enemy" submarines, and repelling an air attack. Also, the participants of the exercises conducted an artillery battle with a simulated enemy surface ship, attacked a submarine, and performed individual elements of electronic warfare during combat operations at sea.
In addition, artillery and anti-aircraft missile firing were conducted at the sea ranges of the Barents Sea, and anti-submarine weapons were used.
