Moscow. May 22. INTERFAX - A group of ships of the Caspian Flotilla (CFl) of the Southern Military District (SE) and the Naval Forces (Navy) of the Republic of Kazakhstan destroyed air targets in the Caspian Sea as part of a joint naval exercise, the press service of the SE reported on Saturday.
"To simulate air targets, a Su-34 fighter-bomber from the association of the Air Force and air defense of the Southern Military District was involved," the report says.
In addition to performing the main task, it was worked out to provide assistance to a conditionally emergency ship in distress.
From the Kazakh side, five warships and support vessels of the Kazakh Navy, including the rocket and artillery ships "Oral" and "Mangystau", take part in the exercises. On the part of the Russian Navy, the small missile ship of the project "Grad Sviyazhsk", the base minesweeper of the project "Magomed Gadzhiev", the raid minesweeper of the project "RT-234", the rescue tug ship of the project "SB-738", the small hydrographic vessel of the project "Anatoly Guzhvin" and the sea tug of the project "MB-58"are taking part.
