In the Kaliningrad Region, training of naval aviation of the Baltic Fleet has begun, in which three home-based airfields are involved at once.
As part of the flights, the crews of Su-30SM fighters play out episodes of fire support for ground units, the head of the information support department of the press service of the Western Military District for the BF, Captain 1st rank Roman Martov, told the Military-Industrial Courier.
They practice actions when striking command posts, armored vehicles, manpower and ships of the imaginary enemy, as well as when conducting aerial reconnaissance.
Su-27 fighters perform the most difficult exercises of the combat training course, where special attention is paid to piloting techniques with the use of offensive and defensive maneuvers at various altitudes and speeds. During the training battles, the pilots alternately conduct training on the search, detection and destruction of "enemy" aircraft.
Meanwhile, the crews of the Mi-24 attack helicopters and Mi-8 transport helicopters are practicing takeoff and landing, conducting aerial reconnaissance, and launching attacks on ground targets. And the pilots of the ship's Ka-27 perform flights to a given square of the sea to open the surface situation, search for submarines-both during the day and at night.
