The Marine Corps has begun decommissioning the Bell AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters, a modern version of the AH — 1 Super Cobra. Purchases of new cars of this type will continue.
The US Marine Corps has begun decommissioning some of its Bell AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters. Images of the helicopter being prepared for long-term storage at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona were posted online on May 14.
The AH-1Z is the latest version of the famous AH-1 Cobra helicopter, based on which the AH-1 Super Cobra was created.

The first flight of the new car was made on December 7, 2000. Small-scale production began in 2003, large-scale production - in December 2010. To date, more than 200 AH-1Z helicopters have been produced. Earlier, the Americans signed several export agreements.
In addition to the AH-1Z, the United States actively operates the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter, gradually upgrading it and giving it new capabilities. One of the most notable in this regard was the recent tests from Apache of the new Spike NLOS rocket. During the test, it was able to hit a target at a range of 32 kilometers.
