Moscow. May 17. INTERFAX-The crew of the patrol ship "Inquisitive" conducted exercises to destroy air targets of a simulated enemy, the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet) said on Monday.
"The air defense calculations of the Inquisitive found a group of small-sized targets moving towards the home base of the ships. As part of the training, the ship was declared ready for the use of air defense systems. The unidentified targets were identified as unmanned aerial vehicles, " the report said.
The crew "practiced conducting air defense with the detection, tracking and destruction of conditional targets at a safe distance," the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet informs.
According to him, " the air targets were destroyed conditionally, without the actual use of naval weapons."
The training is planned, it was held at the base of the connection of surface ships of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, the press release says.
The exercises took place against the background of the entry of a British warship into the Black Sea.
On Sunday, the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation reported that the British Navy patrol ship "Trent" entered the Black Sea, and the Russian Navy is monitoring it.
"The forces and means of the Black Sea Fleet have begun tracking the actions of the British Navy patrol ship Trent, which entered the Black Sea on May 16, 2021," the center said in a statement.
Earlier on Monday, the Black Sea Fleet reported that the crew of the submarine "Krasnodar" worked out actions to prepare for going to sea.
"During the execution of the elements of the course task, the crew worked out training in preparation for going to sea, loading ammunition and organizing security and defense when parked at the mooring wall," the report said.
The submariners performed algorithms of actions to control the submarine when diving and surfacing, as well as when using missile weapons, the fleet informed.
