Moscow. May 13. INTERFAX-The ships of the Leningrad Naval Base (LVMB) performed artillery firing on targets in the waters of the Gulf of Finland, simulating warships and means of air attack of a simulated enemy, the Baltic Fleet (BF) said on Thursday.
"The firing was carried out by the crews as part of exercises to draw an artillery battle with surface ships of a simulated enemy, as well as to conduct a battle with a single ship and means of air attack," the report says.
The maneuvers were attended by LVMB ships, including small anti-submarine ships "Urengoy" and "Kazanets", base and raid minesweepers "Pavel Henov", "RT-57", "RT-248", informs the headquarters of the BF.
According to him, "along the way, the crews of the ships worked out the tasks of searching and tracking the submarines of the conditional enemy, and performed mine laying."
"During the firing exercises, the personnel of the radio-technical combat units of the ships, in cooperation with the combat calculations of the artillery, worked out the issues of repelling attacks with guided weapons. They carried out the setting of false targets with a complex of passive interference near the border, " the report says.
