The crews of more than 60 ships and support vessels of the Russian Navy (Navy) perform combat training tasks in long-distance ocean voyages, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported.
"The crews of more than 60 ships and support vessels performing tasks in the World Ocean received congratulations from the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, on Victory Day," the message reads.
The text of the telegram notes that the modern Russian Navy continues the baton of generations in the reliable security of the Fatherland from the sea and ocean directions.
"The level of naval training of the Navy personnel has increased. Successfully completed tasks to increase the surfacing of ships and the flight of aircraft. The Navy ships performed more than 100 campaigns and combat services during the year, " the document says.
The Commander-in-Chief's congratulatory telegram was also sent to the command and military personnel of the Northern, Pacific, Black Sea, Baltic Fleets and the Caspian Flotilla, as well as to the veteran organizations of the Navy.
The military commander states that the forces and troops of the Navy have regularly participated in the operational inter-fleet exercise "Ocean Shield", in the annual strategic command and staff exercises, the Army International Games and a number of other major events of combat and operational training.
Evmenov notes that during the Great Patriotic War, the Navy, which participated in most defensive and offensive operations, made a significant contribution to the approach of Victory.
